Network test access points (TAPs) provide a simple, non-intrusive view
of live traffic for deploying intrusion
detection systems and performance analysis tools.
|
|
|
|
|
The role of the tap is fairly simple: it just has to take a copy of
the network traffic without disrupting the flow.
But the difficult part is providing devices that cover all the
different media and signalling speeds that are deployed in real-life networks, with
reliability, redundancy and fail-safe operation.
By careful attention to users' requirements Network Critical has established
itself as the leader in this sector.
The ConneX Enterprise series is a range of modular tapping components
for large scale
deployments, from simple 10/100 Mbit breakouts to Gigabit fibre
taps. This allows for an efficient use of rack space based on a 1U chassis.
All the ConneX modules are also available as stand-alone units for
smaller deployments or ad hoc field use.
The V-Line Series is for customers who want to deploy in-line
security appliances but need to ensure network continuity if these
devices fail for some reason. By constantly checking the status of the
attached appliance, the V-Line provides an automatic bypass when
necessary.
